Common Paslode Gas Fuel Cell IssuesUpdated 3 hours ago
Nailer Won't Fire Despite Having a Charged Battery
One of the most common Paslode issues is a fully charged battery paired with a depleted or faulty gas fuel cell.
Possible Causes
- Empty fuel cell
- Expired fuel cell
- Incorrect fuel cell installation
- Blocked fuel valve
- Faulty metering valve
Resolution
- Check the fuel cell expiry date.
- Remove and reinstall the fuel cell correctly.
- Replace the fuel cell if empty or expired.
- Ensure the correct fuel cell is being used for your nailer model.
If the battery is charged but no firing occurs, the fuel cell should be one of the first things checked.
Weak Nail Driving Power
If nails are not being driven flush into the material, fuel delivery may be affected.
Possible Causes
- Low fuel levels
- Expired gas fuel cell
- Dirty combustion chamber
- Tool requiring servicing
- Cold operating temperatures
Resolution
- Replace the fuel cell.
- Clean and service the tool according to manufacturer recommendations.
- Allow fuel cells to reach normal working temperature.
- Check for worn internal components.
Occasionally, a fuel cell may contain gas but fail to deliver it correctly.
Possible Causes
- Damaged metering valve
- Incorrect installation
- Expired fuel cell
- Manufacturing defect
Resolution
- Remove and inspect the fuel cell.
- Refit the fuel cell following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Replace the fuel cell if the valve appears damaged.
- Try a new fuel cell to determine whether the issue is fuel-related.
