Nailer Won't Fire
One of the most common faults experienced with cordless framing nailers.
Possible Causes
- Empty fuel cell
- Incorrectly installed fuel cell
- Dirty spark unit
- Nail jam
- Worn contact tip
Resolution
- Check the fuel cell has sufficient gas.
- Remove and reinstall the fuel cell correctly.
- Inspect the magazine for fastener jams.
- Clean the spark ignition area.
- Check the contact tip moves freely.
Nails Not Driving Flush
Nails sit proud of the timber rather than finishing flush.
Possible Causes
- Low fuel pressure
- Worn driver blade
- Incorrect nail size
- Dirty combustion chamber
Resolution
- Replace the gas fuel cell.
- Adjust depth settings if fitted.
- Clean the combustion chamber.
- Inspect the driver blade for wear or damage.
Misfires & Inconsistent Firing
The tool fires intermittently or fails to fire consistently.
Possible Causes
- Expired fuel cell
- Dirty fan assembly
- Build-up of carbon deposits
- Worn spark plug assembly
Resolution
- Replace expired fuel cells.
- Clean the combustion chamber and fan.
- Carry out routine maintenance.
- Replace worn ignition components if required.
